Scion wood from whips

Postby Dfarmer5218 » Sat Mar 04, 2017 6:17 pm

Has anyone grafted scion wood off of whips that are headed in early spring before breaking dormancy? I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Thanks

Dave

Absolutely. I've done it before and am doing it again this Spring.

When purchasing grafted trees, I have headed those and used that wood to graft another one or two trees. Easier with a feathered tree or tall whip.
