Hi Hank,
What cider apple varieties are you most in need of? I have some young trees (mostly English, and a few French cider varieties) that may be large enough to take a scion from.
Also, can you list some of the apple varieties you have to trade? I'm also looking for perry pear scions.
thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,
I attached my list to this comment. I may not have scionwood from all those this year as some were grafted last year. I'm mostly interested in the French Varieties. but would like to see your list as well.
Best,
Hank

Re: Looking for French Cider Apples (or pears)
Are you the Hank Ainley that sent me some Brown Snout last year to Brooklyn NY?
My perry is all english varieties pretty much except for Theilersbirne but that's Swiss. I've got Old Pierre Apple which I tried to get to you last year but it was too late. While not technically french it's got a pretty cool background. Info on that variety here:
Old Pierre is a surviving apple tree from Pierre Guymard's 17th and 18th century plantation, nearby in Cuddebackville, NY. Pierre was a French Huguenot and the seeds for his orchard likely originated from France.
Doing a proper list in the next week or two so I'll pass that on in case anything on there interests you.

Hi Hank,
I sent you a PM but not sure it went through. Below is a list of my cider apple varieties (mix of English, French, American). Most of my trees are very small & young - so in all honesty I'm not certain which will be able to spare a scion this year. Next year should be better. Let me know which ones might be important to you and I'll do a walk through the orchard to see.
Thx - Dan

Maplestones,
I certainly was the sender of the brown snout, if it came from an Ainley. Mine is the only Ainley family I know! Can't wait to see your list.
Dan,
I messaged you. Very excited.
