Postby sandbur » Sun Dec 27, 2015 6:32 pm

Does anyone have known CAR resistant varieties in zone 3b/4a?

I have Liberty, enterprise, nova easy gro, chestnut crab, and red baron.

I am looking for other northern hardy suggestions.

I have King David, Prairie Spy, Ashmeade's and an unnamed tree that was inour yard when we bought the place, mid-to-late season, late bloomer and good disease resistance, (never has shown rust, growing 75 feet from two cedars). Zone 5a/4b (SW Wisconsin.)

I am growing these CAR resistant apples in zone 8a:

Belle De Boskoop
Black Limbertwig
Bramley's Seedling
Hudson's Golden Gem
Meyer's Royal Limbertwig
Pristine
Rebella

We do not get CAR here, so my information on resistance to this disease was found online. I may have other varieties with disease resistance as well.
