Looking to graft multiple Pluots on a Green Gage or Myroloban 29c.
From the due diligence on Pluots, i want the Dapple dandy, Flavor Queen and Flavor Rich as the scions. I guess I could buy a fruit salad Pluot but I thought I would try this first. Any members have those scions available? PM me if you do.
thanks
Jim

Re: anyone with Pluots
I don't have pluots, but two considerations (not sure where you are)
1. Pluots need a lot of heat to become anything remarkable
2. Green gage is very susceptible to brown rot and some other things...I had one, got one incredible plum Year 2, Year 3 the entire tree died in a week, here in Wisconsin. It appears to fare far better in hotter, dryer climates, but all things being equal I'd graft the pluots to myroblan....

Shoot, mine are all pushing now. I have Dapple Dandy, Flavor King and Flavor Supreme. If you are still looking for some by next winter, let me know and I will send you some scions.

Actually, I just looked up at DWN: http://www.davewilson.com/product-infor ... ific-plums . Dapple Dandy's patent has not expired. So I can't take it off my tree. But Flavor King and Flavor Supreme are fair game.

will keep you in mind until next year
Re: anyone with Pluots
Flavor Supreme tastes great grown here in Western Washington, but it must be hand pollenated to produce well.
Dapple Dandy is productive here, but it's only about as good as Morris plum.
Flavor Grenade is also productive here, it is like a larger much later version of Early Laxton plum.
Flavor King is an extremely shy bearer here, even if I hand pollenate. It's also late ripening. I'm lucky to get 2 or 3 fruits on my entire tree that ripen before being damaged by birds and/or insects. The few I get are incredible.

I now believe the production problems with Flavor Supreme is it's sensitivity to spring frosts, but it's so good it's worth having even if I only get fruit off it 1 out of 3 years on average.
I've had Flavor King about 6 years now, and I've only gotten about 6 fruit 1 year.
Flavor Grenade has produced well for it's size since it's 2nd year.
Dapple Dandy tasted much much better this year (3rd time it fruited) than it did the first 2 years (Metheley plum tasted good it's 3rd year to, I was about to take that one out).
